A Republican Majority in the Texas House of Representatives
The current Texas House is composed
of 76 Republicans and 74 Democrats. The math tells you that is a "bare" majority and under House Rules not enough
to insure passage of important legislation. During the past Session the House was unable to advance major bills because of
Democratic opposition. About FOURTEEN Democracit State Representatives have been identifed as vulnerable. Of these, at
least EIGHT can be defeated. Our goal is to defeat these eight and elect conservative Republicans to
replace them A switch of eight votes would give the Republican a sufficient majority to: --- insure re-districting favorable
to the Republican majority (also known as "gerrymandering" --- secure passage of voter id to insure that only
duly qualified persons are allowed to vote (that's called fair representation) --- advance the conservative agenda
of maintaining the lowest possible taxes and the most favorable business conditions to keep Texas growing and economically
sound.
