The
Wichita Victory 10 Campaign intends to work for the election of conservative Republican candidates at the Local, State and National level. We will support and campaign for these candidates.

SUPPORT THE HANDS OFF TEXAS PROJECT
SIGN THE PETITION AT www.handsofftexas.org
Tell the Democrats we won't tolerate them inTexas .

WE MUST DEFEAT THE DEMOCRATS

Texas has the largest Republican Delegation in the US House of Representatives. We need more! There are four Texas Democrats we must target for DEFEAT IN NOVEMBER: Chet Edwards (17); Sheila Jackson Lee (18); Ciro Rodriquez(23); and Eddie Bernice Johnson (30). These four, more than any other Texas Democrats, have supported the Obama Administration and done whatever Nancy Pelosi tells them. They have not only consistently voted against the best interest of Texans but they have frequently spoken out against Texas values.
Texas Republican Voters have selected four outstanding candidates to run against them in November. All are proven conservatives dedicated to preserving Texas values and protecting our country.
Bill Flores (17); John Faulk (18); Quico Canseco(23); and Rev. Stephen E. Broden (30) deserve the financial and personal support of every Texan.
If you have money, time, or other resources to help any candidates in Texas make it one, or all, of these four. Let's put our money, time and personal resources to work supporting these candidates. Defeating the incumbents in these four Districts must be a priority and our Republican candidates can do it. Go to their web sites and donate money. Volunteer time to walk the streets on their behalf (Rev Broden is less that two hours away). Join their phone banks and make calls. Tell your friends, neighbors, relatives and associates to join you. Make their VICTORY your prioity.

Congressman Thornberry's Visit
13th Congressional District Representative Mac Thornberry spoke to approximately 250 attending the Wichita County Republican Womens special meeting yesterday. Congressman Thornberry discussed the pending legislation that would make drastic changes in how health care is offered and paid for in this country. He also discussed other major issues that are pending before the Congress, such as the Cap and Trade bill. He expressed his opinion and positions on these major items and answered questions regarding them and other issues. when ask why he was not holding in person town hall Meetings he indicated the geographical size of the District (larger than 13 states) made it difficult but that he is using telephone town halls as an alternative. He urged those present to keep the pressure on Congress to reject these unacceptable pieces of legislation and suggested a defeat of the health care bill would be a major step in steering our country back in the right direction.

Recess Rally
The horns honked and the signs shined along Kemp boulevard on Saturday. About 50 Concerned Citizens showed to let Congressman Thornberry know they opposed the proposals of HR 3200. The Rally was part of a nationwide effort to let Members of Congress know how the American people think. (Yes, we can and do THINK.)
The Rally was orderly and not disrupted by any outside forces. I think that was true across the nation. that is all we ask - the opportunity to peacefully express our opinions.

Recess Rally
Americans across the country are fervently discussing the proposed hrealth care "reform" presently before the Congress. Fact and Fiction Fly. But if you have waded through key elements of HR 320 ,as I have, you probably found more questions than answers. On Saturday, August 22, at Noon, a group of local citizens who are deeply concerned will gather along Kemp between Midwestern and Southwest Parkways to express their opposition to the plan as presently structured. If you agree with this, please join them to let your voice be heard.
Only by speaking out can we insure that our voice is heard. In this case, Silence Is Not Golden. Let your fellow Americans know how you feel.

Sen Hutchison's Visit
Just returned from the visit of Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison to Wichita Falls, About 100 people attended to hear her announce that she is running for Governor and make comments on her vision for Texas.

Hopefully, her visit will trigger other candidates for statewide office will follow her to Wichita Falls to let us know about their views. We will give as much advance notice of visits as possible and ask that you also come listen to them.

Photos Have now been posted the Campaign Pictures page.

More Names
I am presently adding about 300 more names to the e-mail list. This will bring the number of addresses in the file to over 600. That is a good start but we need to continue growing. Please help.

Tomorrow, Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison will be visiting Wichita Falls as part of a tour announcing her candicacy for Governor of Texas. It is not the purpose of this site to promote any candidate but it is to promote our learning more about the candidates. Any candidate who appears in Wichita Falls will be given the same advance coverage as has been provided for Sen Hutchison. We need to know what our candidates believe and welcome the opportunity to see them in person. I will report tomorrow on her appearance. I hope you will be in attendance.

I am faxing each "BLUE DOG" Democrat urging them to vote AGAINST HR 3200. I am told they will pay no attention because I am not in their District. But they need to know American cares. I suggest you do the same. It is not that we do not need need "change" but we do not need major surgery. The Congressional Recess is giving Americans a chance to speak, and they are. Hopefully, Congress will listen.
I have added a table on the ISSUES page showing the distribution of the Texas House of Representatives membership. For Texas, and the nation, it is critical the Republican margin be increased next year. Re-Districting will be a major duty of the 2011 Texas Legislature. We must have a strong Republican majority in order to have full control of this process. Tell your friends and family throughout Texas, and the nation for that matter, that Republican control of state legislatures is critical to getting our country onto the correct road.
CONGRESSMAN MAC THORNBERRY will visit on August 28 and will speak to the Wichita County Republican Women at NOON at Luby's. Reservations are required, so please call me for more information.

More Volunteers
Four more volunteers came forwward last night. We still need more. Next week we will begin a calling campaign to recruit more precinct leaders.
I read an article this morning about the major opportunity the GOP has to regain control of the House of Representatives next year. But, it will take a major effort from the grassroots to make it happen. Your participation is vital.

Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison to Visit
Sen Hutchison will visit Wichita Falls on Aug 19 to present a speech at the Vernon College Skills Training Center. located at 2813 Central Freeway E (Highway 287 South). She will make remarks on "Education and the Future of Texas". The doors will open at 9:00 a.m. with the program scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. I hope you will be able to attend and hear her speak as she is apparently planning to be a Republican candidate for Governor. Also, it would be good for us to have a sizeable group to let her know we appreciate her visit.

I have added another section to the web site - the locations of each polling place in Wichita County. It is a printable form so you can print the section applicable to you. I am still trying to improve the Precinct Map, but if you have questions please call as I have a larger map available.

Today I received a summary of the amendments to HR 3200 that were presented by Republican members of the three Congressional committees considering the Health Care bill. Virtually all were rejected along party vote lines. Nearly 10% directly addressed the issue of whether we will be able to continue our personal or group health insurance plans so it must be a part of the bill, despite the President's claims. It is extremely important that we stay on top of this proposed legislation as the long term ramifications are startling.

Letters and Meetings
Yesterday I prepared 31 letters to Republicans in precincts where we need election judges and others to assist with building the party. If only one response is received it will have been worth the effort.
We will meet again Thursday to add more members to our campaign. come, and bring a friend.

There are several events on the horizon. August 22 is Recess Rally Day. We would like to take a group to Dallas to visit the office of a Democratic Congresswomen. Please join us.
Also, September 12 will be our next TEA Party Rally. Mark your calendar to attend.
Then, September 24 the American Liberty Tour will be in Dallas. This will offer us an opportunity for candidate and activist training.
Have a great day.

America' Affordable Health Care Act of 2009
The discussion continues and becomes more heated as Members of Congress face their constituents at home during the August Recess. Have you examined the proposed legislation for yourself? You should so you are not accepting "so and so said" as fact but know for yourself. Use this link http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.3200: to get to a copy. Once there you can look for yourself and make your own judgment. My sister, who is normally of the opposite opinion from me, is looking at and then we exchange views. Generally, our interpretations are different because we have different perspectives on what we consider important. But we are talking, in a calm manner and discussing what we think should or should not be in the bill.
This is one of the most important pieces of legislation on the plate now and we need to get it right. Be an informed citizen. Study the proposed legislation. Make your own judgment. Then let the congress know about it. I urge you to make an informed decision.

AN EDITORIAL COMMENT
We have been seeing and hearing a lot the last few days about the "mobs" showing up to disrupt the Town Hall Meetings scheduled by various Members of Congress. Wow! That top leaders of Congress, and even the President, criticize us for exercising our responsibility to participate in the operation of our government is incomprehensible to me. Well, not really!
I guess that makes those of us in Wichita Falls who are planning to charter busses to attend rallies "mobsters". Now, let's see - who is paying for the busses? Oh, is that why I was ask for a check because I am a big business stooge?
Don't be intimidated! Speak Up. Read the proposed "health care reform" legislation, H.R. 3200, because Congress certainly is not because it is "too complicated". There may be some good parts to it but there are many unnecessary items. For example, in the last version I have access to, there is very clear wording that my right to own and maintain my own private health insurance program will be taken away. and that is just one I have focused on because it will put private insurance providers out of business. It really isn't 1018 pages, it is more like 400 pages, because it has wide margins and at least double, if not triple, spacing so it can be "marked up", i.e. have changes in wording inserted by those reviewing it. This, or course, is one of the dangers - that last minute wording changes will be inserted.
Let's continue to speak up. Let's continue to make calls and send e-mails and faxes to all the Members of Congress that we can reach. Be polite, be brief, be positve but be heard.
Have a Great Day America!!

Progress
I'm excited. There was a larger turn-out for the Wichita Falls TEA Party organizers than ever. Several were there to offer assistance on Wichita Victory '10 and several additional names for those who will help were obtained. We are on the move!
Several major events will be taking place in coming weeks that should be of interest so be sure to check the calendar on this site. As we all know, Congress is taking their August Recess and most are home to visit with the voters. But, oh are they hearing an earfull! That's great. We need to let them know we are just normal people who are very upset with what they are trying to do, supposedly in our name. All over the country they are hearing how we feel. Some have made inappropriate remarks about us "normal" people. some have closed their office doors and called the police to get rid of the "unruly mob". Others have tried to escape and go elswhere, only to be followed and again told how we feel. And folks, it is not in just small areas of the country, it is from coast to coast and border to border. The average American citizens are speaking out. Thank you very much!
Thank you to all who are starting to volunteer to help with Wichita Victory '10. We need more volunteers, so help spread the word. Contact me, or complete the interest form on this site to let me know you will help or if you know others who will. (Oops, that's twice I have ask you to read!). Working together we can accomplish our goal.

Getting Started
I sent about 40 e-mails to selected people yesterday inviting them to our meeting tonight. We will need to find people to serve as precinct leaders in order to make things happen. I am not looking for people who say "oh yea!" and that is the end. I am looking for people who care and are willing to devote some time to making sure we do not allow the extreme left to make irreversible decisions in our name of "we won, you didn't". Together we will succeed.

Now You Can See It
I think everything is working this morning! So, check it out.
I have been working to complete the update to Wichita County voter records. I have completed marking all those who voted in the 2008 Primary (both Republican and Democrat) and have finised marking most who voted in the 2008 General Election. This information will be critical to our Get Out The Vote efforts. I am also doing the same for Clay County, at the request of some who want to turn Clay County RED next year.

Let's Get Started
Thursday I presented the idea of a VICTORY '10 program to a group to see if it was something they wanted to work with. They did, so we will start working on it immediately.
The first thing I ask was for a volunteer from each County Commission Precinct to serve as leader in the Precinct. I immediately had a volunteer from Precinct One.
The program is really simple - we work from the precinct level to identify past and potential voters who wish to see conservatives elected to local, state, and federal office. We will utilize tje age old technique of personal contact to involve our neighbors, family, friends, and co-workers. This will be a grassroots effort.
Join us. Help return America to us, rather than the special interests.
